We have only been in California a month but it is clearly SUMMER here:) And we LOVE it! We have had pool parties, beach days, and lots of walks! Most of our activities have revolved around water and more water. If summer has just begun, I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer will be like for us.
We have already done so much!!
While I am LOVING being back home, here's what I can tell you I
MISS about Colorado:
1. "Mommy to be" parking! In Colorado, Whole Foods and Babies R Us both had designated parking for expecting mothers. Since I am a regular at both stores it was VERY convenient:)
2. Delicious water! My entire life I have been drinking bottled water and not much changed when I moved to Colorado. However, when I was in the shower and I ran the water through my mouth it would always taste soooo GOOD. When I came home and took a shower, yucky water reality set in. No more yummy running water:(
3. Drive through banking. Not sure if it is the town I am currently living in but not a single Wells Fargo near me has a drive though. UGH! So annoying. In Colorado I prided myself on never having to actually go into the bank.
That's all there is in The Springs.
4. Fun Friday's- They may have been short lived but I will NEVER forget them:)
Irvine Spectrum Play Day
This past week my girlfriend Rachel and I took the kid's to play at Irvine Spectrum. We went on the carousal, had lunch, and played in the fountain.
Hmmmmmm.... Should I go in?
Yes! I think I will:)
At first Ellsie was contemplating whether or not she was going to go in but once she decided to do so, I couldn't get her out. She LOVED the water popping up at her and wasn't scared to get wet at ALL! This kid LOVES water.

Kaelyn was leading "baby" Ellsie into the fountain. Kaelyn loves to hold Ellsie's hand and does such a good job taking care of her. If Ellsie was leading her, she would have been drenched HEAD to TOE!
All good things must come to an end and as you can see Ellsie took full advantage of her time in the water! She was very sad to leave :(
Memorial Weekend Pool Partay!
My parents hosted a Memorial Weekend Pool Party where there were 11 kids there!
It was so much fun :) Ellsie got taught a few lesson's from some older kids's...

Ellsie and her new buddy Kai. Kai is 6 weeks older that Ellsie and was so FUN to be around. He is ALL boy and now I can't wait to have one of my OWN!!!

A Day at Seal Beach
Some friends of ours live right near the water in Seal Beach. One Sunday afternoon we packed up the kids in the wagon and walked down to the OCEAN.

This is a dress we bought for Ellsie when we were in Thailand. We didn't know we were having a girl yet but we had a hunch!!
Elisabeth Grace Bury:
15 months, 22.5lbs
Ellsie continues to bring so much joy and laughter into our lives. She is becoming her own person and already I can see what her little personality will be like as she continues to grow. It is also fun to see just how much she is like us. Like her father, Ellsie is very adventurous, stubborn, and routined. And like myself, she is feisty and jabbers on non stop! And of course like both of us, Ellsie has a LOVE of being outdoors and in the water. Ellsie also really values her down time. She will "read" books to herself and talk to herself while laying in her crib for a bit before she takes her nap. Now that she is walking, she has found it a little easier to get into mischief. Everywhere Ellsie goes, a mess is sure to follow. She is into everything and EVERYTHING gets tossed all over the house. Right now we are trying to teach her to stay out of my parents dog, Little Bear, food bowls...but a bowl full of water is just so much fun to dump out! Our curious little girl is on a nipple kick right now. If Chris has his shirt off she is obsessed with getting to them. It is hilarious because Chris will have his shirt off and she will just STARE at his nipples. She points at them and tries to grab at Chris. I always get a kick out of it because Chris is very ticklish.
Signing has become a big part of Ellsie's communication. She can sign please, more, and all done. Currently we are working on thank you, milk and help. We LOVE watching our little one grow and learn new things daily. Because Ellsie has such a love for dogs she barks at every animal...ducks, cows, cats, they all bark apparently:) So to help her learn other animal sounds I bought a farm that goes on the fridge and you push the animal and it makes that animal sound. There is one button however that sings different songs. This just happens to be the one button Ellsie likes to push. So to date, we still bark at all animals! My big accomplishment this past week was teaching Ellsie where her nose is. It took 2 WEEKS! She was being very stubborn but she now can point to my nose! It is amazing just how much these little things can bring on such a big smile. Below is a picture of Ellsie after she crawled into her tub of toys for a quick read:) Ellsie is very creative and loves climbing, jumping and being tossed in the air. While she scares me with her WILD side (I am very paranoid) she is also extremely sweet and loves to laugh. As we watch our little girl develop, we continue to get more and more excited about the arrival of her little brother.
